If you are interested in bio-dynamics and considering establishing a new property or converting your existing property to bio-dynamic production, the following tips from Rob and Pauline Bryans may be of interest: • believe in what you are doing with 100% commitment and don’t take short cuts • if you want to do bio-dynamics for financial gain, DON’T DO IT • be prepared and patient, bio-dynamics is not a quick fix solution • observation and understanding in the vineyard is critical (you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear) • what you are doing will be 100% environmentally sustainable • naturally-produced wines DO win medals along with conventional wines • talk to bio-dynamic producers of any product and form your own opinion • read more than you need: it is vital to understand theories of bio-dynamics, however, you must gain practical experience • bio-dynamics makes wines even healthier • be prepared to spend more time in the vineyard and less time in the winery. |
