If you are interested in bio-dynamics and considering establishing a new property or converting your existing property to bio-dynamic production, the following tips from Rob and Pauline Bryans may be of interest:
- Believe in what you are doing with 100% commitment and don’t take short cuts
- If you want to do bio-dynamics for financial gain, DON’T DO IT
- Be prepared and patient, bio-dynamics is not a quick fix solution
- Observation and understanding in the vineyard is critical (you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear)
- What you are doing will be 100% environmentally sustainable
- Naturally-produced wines DO win medals along with conventional wines
- Talk to bio-dynamic producers of any product and form your own opinion
- Read more than you need: it is vital to understand theories of bio-dynamics, however, you must gain practical experience
- Bio-dynamics makes wines even healthier
- Be prepared to spend more time in the vineyard and less time in the winery.
